Physician Assistant Licensure

The Arcadia University Hybrid Physician Assistant Program leads to a Master of Medical Science. The designed outcome is to fulfill academic eligibility requirements to sit for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and not an individual license. State specific licensure requirements may vary. Generally, granting of the degree, passage of a background check, and passage of the PANCE are sufficient for licensure in most states.

The table below provides a state-by-state breakdown of comparable requirements for physician assistant licensure. At this time, Arcadia University cannot make a determination as to whether the Hybrid Physician Assistant Program meets individual state requirements, because the program is not yet accredited. Following an accreditation decision by ARC-PA, determinations on meeting state requirements will be provided.

Licensure requirements, exam eligibility, and appropriate pathways are subject to change and may differ based on individual student backgrounds, including coursework taken outside the scope of the program. Students should do their own due diligence and determine the appropriate pathway and license type for themselves.

This information is provided in good faith to applicants as of April 22, 2021.
