Arcadia University’s College of Health Sciences upholds a long tradition of innovation and excellence in education that dates back to the university’s founding in 1853. Home to three departments—Physical Therapy, Medical Science, and Public Health—the College is dedicated to expanding the science of health through the promotion of knowledge, discovery of new ideas, and delivery of care beyond traditional or geographic boundaries.

Integrated Experiential Learning

In the College of Health Sciences, our students participate in clinical rotations, fieldwork, on-campus immersions, and more to hone their skills and prepare for a lifelong career.

Emerging from the long and proud history of Beaver College as a primarily teaching institution, the faculty, staff, and students of the College of Health Sciences are dedicated to educating the next generation of health care providers as clinicians, researchers, and professional leaders. Academic Departments and Graduate Programs

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapy programs are ranked among the top 15 percent of programs in the country1, and combine evidence-based practice and the latest research to prepare expert clinicians.

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

Prepare to help clients overcome injuries related to movement in our entry-level DPT program, offered both on campus and in a hybrid format. The full-time program takes two years to complete.

Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (TDPT)

Continue your physical therapy education in our post-professional hybrid DPT program, which can be completed in one to three years.

Medical Science

Our Master of Medical Science (MMS) program prepares aspiring PAs to become service-oriented health care workers, and has maintained a 100 percent first-time PANCE pass rate since 2014.2

Physician Assistant (MMS)

Complete 24 months of didactic and laboratory coursework that will prepare you to deliver high-quality health care in a variety of settings as a physician assistant.

Public Health Master’s and Dual Degree

Ranked the #4 best MPH program nationally by GradReports3, our programs empower students to enhance the health status and quality of life of all populations.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Promote the health of individuals, families, communities, and the environment as a public health professional, and translate your knowledge into practice through collaborative service projects, internships, and clinical rotations.

Dual Degree Public Health and International Peace and Conflict Resolution

Integrate your knowledge of public health to assist in conflict resolution. This program is delivered in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dual Degree Public Health and Counseling

Implement both individual and systemic change in the mental health and public health fields. This program is delivered in collaboration with Arcadia University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Dual Degree Public Health and Physician Assistant

Prepare to broaden your horizons as a physician assistant by integrating individual patient management and working to improve the health of local communities and global populations.

Dual Degree Public Health and Physical Therapy

Become a leader in the physical therapy profession who is capable of impacting health care on a larger scale through health promotion and health policy.
